Ask Locals to Find Fun Las Vegas Restaurants

When I go to Las Vegas, I try to avoid having the typical "tourist" experience. For this reason, when I want to look for things like fun restaurants in Las Vegas, I don't go to the typical Internet site that lists all of the things that tourists should do
during their Las Vegas strip. Those are exactly the things that I want to avoid! Rather, what I am planning out my itinerary and activities (including the places that I'm going to eat), I go on forums that are meant for Las Vegas locals and ask on there what restaurants they consider the most fun and the best. The answers that I get on there have surprised me in the past – they rarely ever mention any of the popular tourist attraction restaurants – like Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe or the Hard Rock Cafe. However, I did see a couple good reviews for the Harley Davidson cafe. But most of the responses tend to focus on local restaurants which are not part of a chain, nor affiliated with the casino. Another tactic that I have found effective is to ask the clerk at my hotel when I am checking in what restaurants he or she and their friends go to when they are looking for a fun night out. In all of my travels, I have always found that you can never go wrong when asking a local!
